About Katrin79

I received 15 units of Botox on my '' anger line'' in April 2011. After a week I started having healthy problems starting from nausea and now tinnitus...

swallowing problems and breathing sensations…

Yesterday I went to  the emergency cause I felt like I am going to die. I couldn’t swallow properly and also had breathing sensations…the doctor told me that maybe I am stressed and that is why I suffer from these symptoms. It is not from Botox..- he added…. I burst into tears and asked if it is posiible to have swallowing and breathing difficulties on and on again. They are for two weeks and disapper for few and come again. He said try to relax and everything will be ok. Xanax was prescribed for me. Once I was taking it in my 5th months of  suffering,   for two weeks cause I was afraid to be addicted to this medicine. How r u feeling? Do you have similar symptoms as mine.Thinking about all of you suffering. Katrin

    Hi, Katrin!

Firstly, I regret that you feel bad. I understand you 100%. I’m just like you are very disappointed with the doctors who refuse to believe that it is Botox (the exception is my local doctor who can read the drug’s book). The others seem to be blind and deaf …
I have had some similar symptoms that went in waves. Breathing difficulties came during the first week after treatment and then disappeared. They came back after about 12-13 months and went in for months of different intensities. Right now, species 18 months, no major problems with breathing. I sometimes feel light attacks with it not make more difficult my life. I can practice Zumba and swim and run without problems.
As for swallowing so I had some sense of having a “tablet” in the throat during months 13-14 after treatment. Now it’s gone. I felt it was no use talking about it to the doctors … They think I’m a psycho …

I try to tell the truth but no one wants to hear. I have contacted several newspapers and television. They are not interested.

I hope you can hold out. It gets better. I promise.

PS: I have an idea how we can be heard. I wrote to Annette that I am planning a qualitative study aimed to describe the side effects of Botox with the patient’s own words. I will use stories from Forum. Only those who want to participate will be included. Anonymity would be preserved. I have begun to search for articles about Botox side effects and have found that most articles are positive, claiming that Botox is safe. (They are financed by pharmaceutical companies). I have found also reports of severe side effects and less positive articles

    Katrin!

I hope that they check your status: Oxygen saturation, electrocardiogram, Blood presure. Did they?

By the way, I use Duloxetin which help me with anxiety.

Hi Maria. They did many examinations on me. according to them I am 100% healthy. In fact I feel terrible. It seems that half of my lungs are paralysed and difficulties in swallowing are unbearable. How r u feeling? Can you see any improvements?

      • Maria says:

        Hi, Katrin!

I do have improvements. Now, I am at 18 month mark and feel much better. I still have some symtoms such as blurred vision and insomnia. Sometimes I feel tired and have yawning attacks. I have to take antideppressiva and sleeping pills, whicj helps me to sleep 4 hours without waking upp. But I as I told you I feel much better and I can function normally at work and take care of the my children. I do believe that I will continue to recover and you too!!!

        Maria
